Need a One-Time Fix Instead?
Not every WordPress issue calls for an ongoing plan. If you're dealing with a specific, one-time problem, we can help without asking you to commit to monthly maintenance. Common examples include malware cleanup, broken functionality, plugin conflicts, performance issues, recovery and remediation after an incident, and similar one-off technical problems. This kind of work is scoped and quoted separately from the plans above, based on what's actually wrong.
How We Actually Work
How We Handle Updates
Update risk varies, so we don't apply one rule to every change. Routine, low-risk updates, most plugin and minor version releases, are applied directly. Updates with a higher chance of causing an issue get compatibility-tested on staging first, when that's the right approach for the change and a suitable staging environment is available. Neither path is inherently better. The goal is matching the level of caution to the actual risk, so your site stays current without unnecessary delay.
Backups & Monitoring
We verify that your backups are running, and on Professional and Managed plans, we periodically test that they can be restored. A backup file existing doesn't mean it's usable, which is why the restore test matters. The backup infrastructure itself runs on your hosting environment. We monitor and verify it rather than provide it.
Uptime and server monitoring work the same way. Where uptime or server monitoring is available to us, we review the relevant logs and results as part of your plan. We don't operate hosting infrastructure or install monitoring tooling on environments we don't manage, so our review depends on what's already in place and accessible for your site.
This is the same reason WordPress maintenance and managed WordPress hosting are different services. We maintain and support your existing WordPress site; we don't automatically provide the hosting infrastructure it runs on, unless that's something we're explicitly managing for you.
What's Outside the Plans
To keep plans transparent, maintenance covers the technical upkeep of your WordPress site, not everything connected to it. The following are not included in any plan and are available separately, scoped and quoted on their own:
- Content review, writing, or refresh
- SEO services
- Privacy/compliance review
- Unlimited development (Managed includes a fixed monthly hour allocation)
- 24/7 support
- Uptime, performance, or SEO guarantees
Professional and Managed plans do include maintenance-level technical checks that touch on search visibility: Search Console error review, broken-link checks, and Core Web Vitals review. These are health checks, not SEO strategy, keyword research, content optimization, or ranking services.
If your domain or hosting account is managed by Sentinel, we monitor renewal dates and send reminders. If you manage your own domain or hosting, those renewals stay your responsibility. We don't take them on by default.
What Happens to Unmaintained Sites
Most WordPress security incidents and performance problems are preventable with consistent upkeep. They happen to sites that are not being looked after, not because WordPress is inherently insecure or slow.
A site with outdated plugins is an easier target for automated bots that scan for known vulnerabilities. A site with no backups means that when something goes wrong, recovering it can mean rebuilding much of it from scratch. These are not edge cases. They happen regularly to business owners who assumed their hosting company was taking care of things.
Preventing those problems is the point of a maintenance plan.
Outdated plugins are a leading attack vector
Many WordPress hacks exploit vulnerabilities that already had patches. The fix existed. It just was not applied.
No backup means no recovery option
Hosting-level backups often have limited retention and can be costly to restore from. That is why verifying a backup actually works, and testing that it restores, matters more than assuming one exists.
Sites slow down gradually without anyone noticing
Database bloat and plugin overhead grow silently. By the time visitors notice, performance may already be affecting their experience.
Emergency fixes cost far more than prevention
A hacked or broken site requiring emergency recovery often costs more than a year of maintenance, on top of the downtime and disruption to your business.
Engineering Depth, Not Just a Checklist
Sentinel Infotech has maintained and custom-built WordPress sites for over 15 years from our team in India, including the engineering work many maintenance providers don't do themselves: content management systems, secure payment and donation integrations, membership and portal builds, and WooCommerce stores.
When a maintenance review turns up something that needs more than a routine fix, the same team of WordPress developers handles it. Nothing gets escalated to a separate department.
Types of Sites We Maintain
Examples of WordPress sites we can maintain.
WooCommerce Stores
Active stores where downtime or a broken checkout directly costs money.
Membership Sites
Subscription platforms with access control and login logic that has to keep working.
Business Websites
Lead-generating sites where being offline means missed enquiries.
Health and Wellness
Clinic websites with booking and enquiry workflows where reliability matters.
Questions About Our Maintenance Plans
Answers to what clients ask us most before getting started.
How do I get started with a maintenance plan?
Contact us and tell us about your site. We'll review your current setup, confirm which plan fits, and handle onboarding directly with you. Plans aren't purchased through automatic checkout, since scope can vary by site.
Do you offer one-time help without a monthly plan?
Yes. If your issue is a specific, one-time problem rather than something that needs ongoing attention, we can scope and quote that work separately from the plans above. This covers things like malware cleanup, broken functionality, plugin conflicts, performance issues, and recovery after an incident. Tell us what's wrong and we'll assess it.
What's included in each plan?
See the comparison table above. Essentials covers monthly updates and backup verification. Professional adds quarterly reviews, performance and search monitoring, and standard WooCommerce support. Managed adds annual audits, advanced WooCommerce maintenance, migration assistance, and monthly development hours.
Do you provide backups or hosting?
No. We verify that your backups are running and, on Professional and Managed plans, periodically test that they can be restored. Backup infrastructure and hosting stay on your existing environment. We monitor and verify it rather than provide it.
Will every update be tested on staging first?
No, and it shouldn't be. Routine, low-risk updates are applied directly. Higher-risk updates are compatibility-tested on staging when that's the right approach and a suitable environment is available. We match the level of caution to the actual risk of each update.
What's your support response time?
Essentials targets a 2-business-day response, Professional 1 business day, and Managed 4 business hours. These are targets we work to, not guaranteed SLAs. Managed plans also include emergency issue handling during business hours.
What's not included in maintenance?
Content writing or review, SEO services, privacy/compliance review, unlimited development, and 24/7 support fall outside every plan. Managed includes a fixed monthly development allocation; larger work, redesigns, and complex migrations get quoted separately.
